These measurements are required to generate a suggested size.
How to measure required fields
Waist
- Button the jeans.
- Lay them flat with the top front edge of the waistband aligned evenly with the top back edge.
- Make sure the waistband is straight and parallel, then pull it snug.
- Measure straight across the waistband from one edge to the other.
- Double that number before entering it here.
If the waistband is drooping, not parallel, or not pulled snug, the measurement will be inaccurate.
Upper Thigh
- Lay the jeans flat.
- Place the measuring tape at the far edge of the crotch seam.
- Measure straight across to the outside edge of the leg.
Measure straight across from the crotch seam. Do not follow the curve of the fabric.
Shoulder
- Button up the garment.
- Lay the garment flat, front facing down, with the arms in a V shape.
- Measure from one shoulder seam to the other.
Pit to Pit
- Button up the garment.
- Lay the garment flat, face up, with the arms in a T shape.
- Measure from the edge of one armpit seam straight across to the other.
Sleeve Length
- Lay the garment flat.
- Measure from the shoulder seam to the end of the cuff.

How to measure - Help
Front rise
- Button the jeans and lay them flat.
- Smooth out the front rise.
- Measure from the crotch seam to the top of the waistband.
Back rise
- Button the jeans and lay them flat.
- Smooth out the back rise.
- Measure from the crotch seam to the top of the waistband.
Knee
- Lay the jeans flat.
- Measure 12 inches down the inseam from the crotch.
- Measure straight across the leg at that point.
Leg opening
- Lay the jeans flat.
- Measure straight across the hem from edge to edge.
Inseam
- Lay the jeans flat and smooth the inseam.
- Measure from the crotch seam down the inseam to the hem.

- Measure from where the collar band attaches to the yoke straight down the middle.
- Measure to the longest point of the hem.
Introducing the Fat Fox Selvedge, a 22.7oz Japanese duck canvas made entirely from organic FoxFibre cotton, grown in California by cotton breeder and environmental pioneer Sally Fox. This fabric contains no dyes, bleach or chemical coloration. The warm brown color comes directly from the naturally pigmented cotton plant.
Sally Fox began her work in the 1980s, selectively breeding heirloom brown and tan cotton varieties with long-staple white cotton to create spinnable, naturally colored fiber suitable for commercial weaving. Her work eliminates the need for conventional dyeing and greatly reduces the environmental impact associated with textile production.
Woven in Japan as a heavyweight selvedge canvas, the fabric is constructed using undyed natural warp yarns and naturally brown FoxFibre weft yarns. At 22.7oz per square yard, it pushes the limits of traditional duck canvas, creating a dense, structured fabric that softens and molds with wear. Natural seed flecks remain visible throughout the yarn, adding texture and depth. Over time, the color deepens with washing and sunlight, developing a patina unique to naturally colored cotton.
The Fat Fox Selvedge is finished with components chosen to highlight the fabric’s natural character, including 100 percent FoxFibre warp and weft, natural ecru pocket bags with visible seed flecks, a natural vegetable tanned leather patch that is chromium free and dye free, a pink selvedge ID for a subtle contrast detail, and antique tone hardware selected to complement the palette.
