The Myth
In Japanese mythology, Yatagarasu (八咫烏, “eight-span crow”) is a sacred creature sent from the heavens to guide Emperor Jimmu on his journey through the Kumano mountains to establish the first imperial dynasty. Its three legs are said to represent Heaven, Earth, and Humanity, symbolizing divine guidance and the balance between forces. The myth’s dark wings and luminous presence serve as the creative foundation for this denim.
The Fabric
The Yatagarasu Selvedge is a 15oz Japanese selvedge denim, woven in Japan from short-slub black yarns. The irregular yarn structure produces a textured, uneven surface with a slightly hairy feel, giving the fabric depth and tactile richness.

The Details
Each pair features a natural vegetable-tanned leather patch with original artwork by Canadian artist Jacqui Oakley.
The jeans are finished with tone-on-tone stitching and black non-reflective hardware.
