As we usher in the Chinese New Year, a festival steeped in rich tradition and joyous celebration, we at Naked & Famous Denim are thrilled to present our annual special edition: the Chinese New Year Selvedge. This 2024 edition is especially significant as we commemorate the Year of the Dragon, a powerful emblem in the Chinese zodiac.
Our Chinese New Year Selvedge for 2024 retains the refreshed fabric introduced in 2023. This denim boasts a rich, slubby texture, delivering striking high-contrast fading with an emphasis on vertical streaking. Unlike previous editions, this fabric is less rigid, ensuring a quicker break-in period and enhanced comfort for the wearer.
In homage to the Chinese New Year, the jeans feature several design elements: a metallic gold foil and red selvedge ID, and red pocket bags – reminiscent of the traditional red envelopes symbolizing prosperity. The centerpiece is the intricately designed Year Of The Dragon vegetable-tanned leather patch, accented with metallic red foil. Over time, this patch will beautifully patina, developing deeper brown tones, while the metallic foil subtly fades.
Proudly constructed in our Canadian factory, these jeans are also adorned with contrast stitching and silver metallic buttons and rivets, epitomizing our commitment to exquisite craftsmanship.
