Green cast is one of those things that sounds like it should be obvious, like the jeans are going to look green, but in reality they just come across as a really deep, dark indigo at first.
The green only really shows up as you wear them in, because instead of fading to that bright blue you usually get, the color kind of shifts into this slightly muted, almost greenish tone underneath, and once you notice it, you can’t really unsee it.
It comes down to the dye. It’s still indigo rope dyed, but with a small amount of green added into the mix, which slightly deepens the color and changes how it evolves over time, so even though it starts off looking familiar, the fade ends up going in a different direction.
What makes it stand out is the fabric it’s built on. Green cast is typically associated with rigid, heavier denim that takes time to break in, but here it delivers the same depth of color and fade potential without the usual break-in.
Built from a 12.5oz slub stretch selvedge, it retains the vertical texture and irregularity of slub yarns while staying soft, flexible, and comfortable right away.
The Fabric
This is a 12.5oz Japanese selvedge denim made from 98% cotton and 2% elastane, using a slub yarn that creates vertical texture and variation across the surface. That unevenness gives the fabric movement and depth, while the stretch adds flexibility, making it comfortable from the start without the extended break-in of 100% cotton denim.
It’s also woven in a broken twill construction, originally developed to prevent leg twist by removing directional bias in the weave. Combined with the slub texture, it creates a surface that feels irregular but controlled, something you don’t typically get from a standard twill.
The Details
The leather patch is an oak-colored waxed pull-up leather, designed to change with wear as the wax shifts and the leather lightens in high-stress areas, developing contrast over time.
