For some it can be hard to imagine this fabric ever being comfortable. This is where the Blue Wave Selvedge steps in. Crafted from 12.5oz Japanese Selvedge Denim and treated with a fabric wash, it strikes a perfect balance between immediate wearability and the timeless appeal
of raw denim.
The Blue Wave Selvedge is raw denim without the initial stiffness, providing a softer hand feel from the very first wear. We do this by first washing the fabric post weaving to remove the starches that give denim its crisp feel. This in turn softens the fabric while enriching the fibres for a more textured feel. Importantly, this wash does not significantly alter the denims natural fading characteristics. In essence, we’ve pre-soaked the jeans for you.
Unlike the typical garment washes that often result in a pre-worn look, the fabric-rinse method applied to the Blue Wave Selvedge reduces shrinkage before the denim is cut and sewn. This ensures neater seams and minimal puckering.
The denim is quite traditional with an indigo warp paired with a white interior weft. You’ll also find other classic details such as; custom silver metallic hardware, contrast stitching, a brown leather patch, and topped off with a classic red line selvedge ID. Every pair is crafted in our very own factory in Quebec, Canada – testament to our dedication to preserving the craft of jeans making in Canada.
