As we reflect on a journey that began 15 years ago, our hearts are filled with immense gratitude and pride. From our first pair of jeans to the global community we've built, every step has been a testament to our love for denim and innovation. This year, as we commemorate our 15-year anniversary, we're excited to unveil a special creation that encapsulates our legacy: a commemorative 15oz Japanese selvedge denim and a limited-edition silk-screen poster.
To mark this special occasion, we've crafted a beautiful 15oz Japanese selvedge denim, born in the historic mills of Okayama, Japan. This fabric is a homage to the birthplace of our beloved materials, woven on antique shuttle looms to preserve authenticity. Our journey has always been a harmonious blend of Japanese & Canadian craftsmanship. This denim, with its slubby texture reminiscent of handwoven fabrics, is a favorite among our fans. The intertwining of red and white yarns, representing the colors of Japan and Canada, creates a unique reddish hue, a subtle nod to our deep bond between these two nations. Flip the cuff, and you'll witness these colors in full display, celebrating our vibrant cross-cultural connection. Other details include silver metallic buttons and rivets, contrast stitching, and Selvedge IDs adorned with Red/White/Red and White/Red/White tributes to our flags.
Our 15th anniversary goes beyond fabric. We've collaborated with the renowned Japanese pin-up artist "Rockin Jelly Bean." His unique artwork, infusing a whimsical Canadian narrative, adorns our pocket flasher and is embossed on our signature vegetable-tanned leather patch. It depicts our tragic blond protagonist in a Canadian winter cabin, humorously greeted by two mischievous beavers. This creative collaboration extends to a high-quality screen print, available in two exclusive limited editions: an edition of 200 featuring the original pocket flasher artwork, and a green variant, limited to 100 pieces. Half of these posters will be available at Tate + Yoko, with the remainder in Japan at Erostia, Rockin’ Jelly Bean’s own shop.
